There are many types of personality disorders, some of which can lead to dangerous and deadly behavior if not closely watched. This article will give you a brief understanding of each of the dangerous personality disorders and how they can become so dangerous.

In fact, studies have shown that the majority of homicides reported in the United States result from individuals with Antisocial Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, OCD, and others with psychopathic, sociopathic, or schizophrenic tendencies.

Antisocial Personality Disorder

Antisocial Personality Disorder can be very complicated, as it is related to many other disorders yet carries its own traits not common to other disorders. It normally starts during youth and progresses dangerously into adulthood. Antisocial people often totally disregard others, and ignore laws set in place for the good of communities, and individuals.

Antisocial people are often manipulative, conniving, and are great at getting others to share in bad behavior. It is all too common for people that have antisocial disorder to be late for work, appointments, frankly because they dont care.

They have little or no remorse for their actions no matter the situation. When it comes to relationships, they will cheat at the drop of a hat, and will also try to convince others to believe the way that they do.

Behaviors include rage, impulsive and explosive behaviors, avoidance techniques and many others. Warning signs include compulsive lying, stealing without remorse, disregard for others, destroying property, starting fires or hurting people or animals with a joyful attitude. If you see these signs in anyone you love, seek help.

Antisocial Personality Disorders are often linked to abuse, alcoholism, drugs, crime and family upbringing. However, this is not true in all cases. The research is being examined further considering that more children today are labeled with this disorder than any other time in history. Today, kids are listed as having Conduct Control Disorder, which is essentially the same disorder.

Borderline Personality Disorder

Another dangerous personality disorder is Borderline Personality Disorder, otherwise known as BPD. People with BPD are very unpredictable and that combined with their impulsive behaviors, makes them very volatile. They are often promiscuous, terrified of abandonment, self-destructive and violent.

It is possible to treat these individuals; however, it can be dangerous to live with such a personality type. Borderline Personality Disorder may be linked to incest, breakdowns within families, alcoholism and drugs.

OCD

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is another disorder with violent tendencies. In fact, it is estimated that people with OCD are linked to a good majority of domestic violence assaults.

Often people with OCD have difficulty completing tasks because they are so set to their pattern or schedule, which they are unwilling to adjust as necessary. They also do a good job at alienating anyone around them. People with OCD can be very selfish and disregard other peoples feelings and emotions most of the time.

Because these disorders are so common place in our society today, it is important to know the symptoms not only to protect yourself, but also to get help for a loved one.
